k,
Ashton stared up at the dark, cloud-ridden sky, as a cold wind blew through the dirty streets of Misontal. The capital of Widlanend was silent in the darkest hour of its time, as people cowered in their cold, decaying homes. The young boy could barely make out the three dark figures of Kuron, the land of demons, as their outstretched wings almost completely blocked out the sun. Minshin and his companions, Aster, Ninle, Brist, Tristen, and Seris, could be seen on the roof of the Star Temple; the six of them on each point of the Star painted with enchanted blood. Minshin glowed in the darkness from his place in the center of the Star, The Star-cradle Sword pointed straight at the three demons, threat and a pulsing flame radiating from its tip. The young boy bit his lip, it was out of happiness, and to help him steady himself against the immense darkness. He knew that the Destined One, Minshin, would suceed in banishing the evil of the Three. His heart swelled with admiration and joy as he watched Minshin concentrate himself for a final blow. There was a great light that blinded Ashton momentarily, but the warmth it left in his body was welcomed. This feeling did not last long, though, as suddenly there was a horrid, layered laughter that echoed through the sky, city, and his bones. Studdering backward, his vision returned just in time to watch as the demons descended upon the Six. They had no time to react. The Ritual of Six had failed.
